Spring at last
Color is happening...
Small things in the garden too..
“A garden to walk in and immensity to dream in--what more could he ask? A few flowers at his feet and above him the stars.”
― Victor Hugo, Les MisérablesThursday, March 27, 2014
Color is coming
Hopefully!
But there is still snow on the ground. 'Tis ok.
But there is still snow on the ground. 'Tis ok.
And a little montage of the work going on..most pieces are available in my Etsy shop.
Spring
To what purpose, April, do you return again?
Beauty is not enough.
You can no longer quiet me with the redness
Of little leaves opening stickily.
I know what I know.
The sun is hot on my neck as I observe
The spikes of the crocus.
The smell of the earth is good.
It is apparent that there is no death.
But what does that signify?
Not only under ground are the brains of men
Eaten by maggots.
Life in itself
Is nothing,
An empty cup, a flight of uncarpeted stairs.
It is not enough that yearly, down this hill,
April
Comes like an idiot, babbling and strewing flowers.

sheer color wonderful..
I want to wear them..in fact maybe I will! all hand dyed 100% silk ties. I've been crazy with the silk lately, and have a few new art quilts to post here as well. I've also done a great deal of hand dyed silk yardage.. anyone think they need some? Check the Etsy store out for the goods..
Lord, it's beautiful weather. Love the Virginia spring time..
