all done, for now

Wrapped up a submission for the ArtHouse co-op's "The Color Project' with some mini quilts, all about 9x11" and mixed media.

All the above base on literary characters. Mixed media, fabric, paint, pages from the books, hand and machine stitching. The theme was to make the pieces primarily, red, blue, green or yellow. Above is the red, blue and yellow pieces..Poor Ophelia there in the blue, already becoming her ghost..

And I was so please with the silk hand dye results, I've used some of that in the 'green' piece, hand and machine made, with had stitching and hand spun wool yarn.

sketch book

I still keep a sketchbook. It's about the closest thing I get to a journal. I'd love to do the journal quilt thing..maybe the summer.. If nothing else gets done during the day, I at least try and put something in a sketch book. I have stacks of them. Ideas that will never see the light of day..

Mixed media is happening lately. These are pencil/guache/wax on paper. I wish I had Dumbledore's pensive, he pulls those things out of his brain and stores them in that magic bowl of his..

peter

The craft fair went well, I'm amazed at how creative people are with ordinary objects. I love the whole found/recycle idea people have. Making something creative and artistic out of stuff people discard. Bottles, cans, etc.. really amazing. Is there a separate category for these people? Green crafters, or such?
Anyway, here's some detail of a piece from a mixed media series I'm doing on the apostles. This is part of Peter, he who was a fisherman, who became a fisher of men! Mounted on canvas, it's fabric, netting, beads and paint... 24"x24"
