late spring

I've managed to finish this shawl: These colors really remind of the sea.. turquoise, lavender, moss greens.. I loved making this one. Two yarns, alternating, one a rayon ribbon, the other a thick and thin loose spun wool, hand dyed..
The garden has exploded in color, texture and weeds! Must. get. some. pictures.
Sweet pea..

pink roses, my all time fav..

an Asian lily.. love the color combos here..

I feel overwhelmed at the moment, school is coming to a close, the house, the new work in progress.. need to relax and take things one at a time. I'm a horrible multi-tasker. I end up doing things in halves.. one step at a time..

some knitting

some Monday sunshine, and some finished knitting..I love these yarns soo much. One is a hand-dyed mohair that is soft soft, from Tintangel farm, and the other is Colinette giotto, I think the colorway was 'monet'.. edged with leaf green worsted. Moss stitched shawl that may or may not be a gift for someone!!

velvet wip

I have some fabric that is so beautiful that I don't quite know what to do with it. This is dark burgundy (the pic is a little dark, sorry) silk velvet, about 1 1/2 yards. I've cut it length-wise and started to embroider and embellish the ends.
I like the thought of making fussy fabrics, ie., tulle, velvet, damask, into humbler things, bags, pillows etc.. even household items.
I'm beading, couching and appliqueing some torn fabric strips (batik) in a wave pattern along the edges.. I'm going to line it, but not quite sure with what.

knitting

Well, if I had unlimited resources, I would go bonkers buying all the Colinette, and Noro yarn I could. I really love artistic yarns, texture and especially color! However, that is not the case! The shawl is Colinette, giotto (love love this yarn) and mohair..the scarf is Noro Kureyon..
