Quilt National 2015

A Happy Mail day! I'm very happy to have received a 'yes' for the big art quilt show Quilt National 2015. It's a tough one to get into, I feel fortunate. This is one of the pieces not chosen. "These are the dresses I used to wear".  I used all sorts of fabrics for this one, many of them recycled. About 43x50"

Late Summer

I'd like to be like the French and just retreat for August, maybe to the sea or mountains. I'm not picky. But for now, I'll just stitch and continue to make stuff.

Emily Dickinson

Today is the anniversary of Emily Dickinson's death. I read her verse, and love her evocations of the human emotions and her penchant for wearing white.

This is a throw back painting I did in the '80's in a life painting class at CSULB.

They shut me up in Prose – As when a little Girl They put me in the Closet – Because they liked me "still" – Still! Could themself have peeped – And seen my Brain – go round – They might as wise have lodged a Bird For Treason – in the Pound –
